Hearing Testing and Evaluations

Choosing the right hearing aid starts with a clear understanding of your unique hearing loss needs. Our advanced testing procedures accurately identify whether or not you have hearing loss and measure the type and severity.

Hearing screenings lead to hearing tests. And hearing tests lead to a solution for better hearing. The most common tests are pure-tone, bone conduction, speech and auditory brainstem response. Every patient is unique, so test types will always be based on individual profiles. This will allow the individual to get accurate results necessary for a treatment plan.

The evaluation is one of the determining factors for the type, style and features you need from a hearing aid, and it marks the initial test run for getting a hearing device. At the dispensing and fitting, you get to try your custom-fit hearing aid for the first time. Your audiologist will test for comfort and explain the features of the new device.

When a hearing aid malfunctions, cleaning it could resolve the problem. Care instructions are provided by an audiologist during the fitting appointment. When home care does not work, bring in the device for an in-office repair. Anything that can’t be repaired by an audiologist is sent off to the manufacturer for a full repair.
