Accessibility Statement
Anne Arundel Audiology is committed to making both our website and our Glen Burnie office usable by everyone who needs hearing care — including patients with disabilities. Communication access is the whole reason this practice exists, so removing barriers is not an afterthought here. Every person deserves equal access to hearing healthcare information and the support that comes with it.
Web Accessibility
We work to make our website, annearundelaudiology.com, conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or voice control software.
Our ongoing accessibility efforts include:
- Providing descriptive alt text for images throughout the site;
- Ensuring sufficient color contrast between text and background elements;
- Using semantic HTML so screen readers can interpret page structure correctly;
- Making all interactive elements — menus, buttons, forms, and the scheduling tool — keyboard-navigable;
- Providing captions or a text alternative for video content wherever practical;
- Writing in plain language, which matters especially for patients navigating audiology terminology for the first time; and
- Ensuring forms include visible labels and clear, helpful error messages.
We are actively working to identify and resolve any remaining accessibility barriers. If you have trouble accessing any part of this website, contact us and we will make every reasonable effort to provide that information in a format that works for you — including reading it to you over the phone or sending it by email.
In-Office Accessibility
Our office is located in Suite 509 of Crain Towers, 1600 Crain Hwy S., Glen Burnie, MD 21061. In-office accommodations include:
- Wheelchair accessible entrance — step-free access from the parking lot into the building;
- Wheelchair accessible parking — designated accessible spaces in the on-site Crain Towers lot;
- Quiet, sound-treated testing environment — a calm room and unhurried appointments give patients with sensory, cognitive, or communication needs the time and space they need;
- Communication support — Dr. Ometz will write, repeat, rephrase, or slow down as needed, and family members or care partners are always welcome in the room;
- Free Wi-Fi — available throughout the office for patients and companions who rely on connected assistive devices; and
- Scheduled appointments — because every visit is booked in advance, we can prepare the room and the schedule around your specific access needs.
If you have an accessibility need that is not listed above — a sign language interpreter, an assistive listening device, extra transfer time, or anything else — please tell us when you book so we can arrange it before you arrive. Call the office at 410-766-6320.
Anne Arundel Audiology welcomes patients of every age, ability, background, gender identity, and orientation. This is an LGBTQ+ friendly practice and a transgender safe space.
Remote Care as an Access Option
For patients who cannot easily travel to the office, we offer remote hearing care. Many hearing aid adjustments, programming changes, and troubleshooting questions can be handled without a trip to Glen Burnie.

Limitations
While we work toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA across this site, some content may not yet fully conform. We are committed to continuous improvement and will address issues as they are identified. Third-party content — including our online scheduling tool, embedded maps, and social media feeds — is beyond our direct control and may not meet the same standards. If a third-party tool is blocking you from booking, call us at 410-766-6320 and we will schedule your appointment for you.
